Outstanding Oliver

A Families Experience:

Unlike most NICU stories, we expected to have a preemie. We knew it was going to be a long, emotional rollercoaster ride. We found out around 17 weeks that the pregnancy was complicated. After doing a level 2 ultrasound we found out that our “nugget” was about 4 weeks smaller than he should be for his gestational age, amniotic fluid levels were low and placenta looked inadequate. Strict bedrest ensued. Weekly heart tone checks, ultrasounds every 2-3 weeks. Low and behold our miracle boy continued to grow. Kari, Oliver's mommy.
