Meet Bailey at the 2018 NICU Reunion!

Hello, NICU Families and NICU Staff!  Have you registered for the 2018 NICU Reunion? Put this on your MUST DO list for the summer as it is shaping up to be an incredible reunion of families, graduates and medical staff.  As if hanging out with amazing people isn't enough, we are excited to introduce a special guest who will be joining us at the NICU Reunion from 2 pm - 4 pm.

Meet Bailey, the therapy dog. Bailey is a 5-year-old Golden Retriever. Bailey and her handler/owner Holly are part of the North Star Therapy Animals, whose mission is to improve the lives of countless individuals throughout the Twin Cities area by providing high-quality therapy animal teams and services to a wide variety of facilities.

Bailey is friendly, social, funny, sweet and loves being around children. Bailey and Holly have been visiting health care facilities for 3+ years. They are looking forward to meeting former preemies and their families at the NICU Family Reunion.

Bailey and Holly are among 160+ teams who visit 50+ facilities in the Twin Cities area. They are frequent visitors to MSP airport, Masonic Children’s Hospital, M Health Hospitals, University of MN, and Cedar Ridge Elementary School, where 2nd graders read books to Bailey so that they can become great readers. *Why are my eyes watering?*

Bailey and Holly, like all NSTA teams, are registered with Pet Partners. Pet Partners is a National Registering Organization for Therapy Animal Teams. All therapy animal teams are rigorously evaluated prior to becoming a team and then need to renew their registration every two years, ensuring that animals are healthy and enjoying their work and handlers are prepared for every situation that might arise on a visit.

Check out Bailey's Facebook page.  SUCH a good dog!
